Insider Tips from Bsas4u: Matthieu’s Recommendation
It is friendship month in Argentina. To celebrate with you, every day we will share the Bsas4u team’s insider tips to our favourite places and attractions in Buenos Aires. Each of these places has a real porteña soul, and we always recommend them to our friends coming to visit Buenos Aires.
These are the places we hold dear to our hearts, just for you, so take note!
Matthieu Chauchard:
Account Manager
Born: Paris, France.
What he likes: Matthieu likes listening to music, especially reggae. He loves to travel, particularly in Latin America. He also builds handcrafted speakers to create special sound effects for private reggae parties with his friends. As a big football fan, he supports PSG and also plays tennis.
Matthieu’s Recommendation: La Cocina de Batatas.
This is a unique place, unknown to tourists. The address is shared by word of mouth only, and recommended by a porteño. It is a tiny restaurant with attractive prices, and is an absolute delight for all meat lovers. The speciality, “carne al horno” – oven roasted meat – is a real treat!
With La Cocina de Batatas’ special charm, postcard collection, and photos of artists and major sports stars, one feels as if you’ve travelled to another world. Arrive hungry, they offer excellent “picadas” as a snack while you wait for a meal. Perfect!
Porteños love this place, with the “carne al horno” special reminding them of their childhood.
The restaurant has no website, but it does exist!
Although the place is great, the area it is in is not highly recommended, so if you want to take a stroll after eating to work off the food, we suggest you do this a little further away…
How to get there:

From the Obelisco:
