Strolling along Buenos Aires’ central shopping streets, where Carlos Gardel, the Gotan Project and Astor Piazzolla blast out of the loudspeakers on the entrance to the music shops, you might be forgiven for thinking that the Argentinians musical tastes limits itself to tango. In fact if you wander a bit further afield, you’ll hear Argentine Rock or even classical music resounding from peoples open windows and back yards. Live music in Buenos Aires is everywhere, from the buskers on the subway, to the cumbia played at full blast in a car passing by.
