Open Air Buenos Aires Breathes Culture

 Buenos Aires is beginning 2012 with an incredible calendar of cultural activities. The Ministry of Culture and the Government of the City of Buenos Aires as of the 14th January 2012 will be putting on more than 100 free outdoor activities for 6 weeks until February 18th. The green spaces of Buenos Aires will be filled with poetry; theatre; dance; film; music; Milongas and children’s programmes. The city’s outdoor festival opens on Saturday 14th January at el Rosedal with a drive-in cinema, showing some of the best Argentine films.

The cultural festival will leave you spoilt for choice and you will have a variety of events to take part in every day from learning how to dance Milonga in front of El Caminito in La Boca to rocking out in Parque Roca. The cultural programme and its unbelievable mix of events will appeal to all ages and interests.

The last event will be held in La Boca in front of the famous and UNESCO World Heritage Site of, El Caminito on the 18th February at 6.30pm. The last event of this summer festival presents an iconic Milonga show with a performance from the 2011 World Tango Champions, Max Van De Voorde and Solange Acosta, who will demonstrate why the art and dance form has been projected across the world and has a place in the history and traditions of Buenos Aires and Argentina.
