A Creature in Puerto Madero
“O bicho suspenso na paisagen” or “A creature suspended in the landscape” is the name of the exhibition at the new Centre of Exhibitions opened recently in the modern neighbourhood of Puerto Madero to further raise the cultural scene of the city.
The Faena Art Centre brought in for its opening a unique show that you can only visit during the month of November. The Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto, who is characterised for creating installations which you can interact, touch, smell and even as in this case, play with.
The structure of the piece of art work is suspended in the air depicting a giant snake which has been made by hand using ‘crochet’. The artwork occupies the entire imposing hall of the Faena Arts Centre; you can look inside it, as if you were in the jaws of the fantastic creature.
This installation is an excellent plan to continue getting to know the wide range of culture that Buenos Aires offers and learn about the cutting edge of modern art. “O bicho suspenso na paisagen” (the original name in Portuguese) is particularly a place to interact with the art and have fun whilst you learn.
The work will be exhibited until 20th November.
