If you’re into extreme sports or want to be awed by some extremely skilled adrenaline junkies, then Buenos Aires Extremo is for you. This extreme sports festival takes place this weekend on 23 November 2014.
Buenos Aires Extreme is an exhibition and competition for top skateboarders and BMX freestylers, some of Argentina’s best will be competing for up to AR$ 60,000 in prizes. Plus it’s a great way to showcase extreme sports in Argentina.
The city is doing a lot of good work for these two sports in the city, after Tony Hawk and his team visited earlier this year for a spectacular exhibition in Palermo. The Buenos Aires government has even created an organisation called Buenos Aires X in order to promote the sport and support these athletes, a great step to helping keen competitors to go professional.

Where: Costanera Norte Park
Cost: Free
What: Skateboarding and BMX Freestyle competitions, live bands, DJs, urban art, sports clinics, BMX and slacklining for beginners, in addition to the presence of various NGO’s to promote bike culture and environmental awareness.
